  • For growing Kiwi, it needs 700-800 chilling hours(means winter temperature should be in between 7-10 Degree celsius).
  • Deep, rich, well-drained sandy loam soils are ideal for the cultivation of kiwi. A soil pH is slightly less than 6.9 results in maximum yield when compared to high pH.
  • You can grow either in a pot or directly in the soil.
  • If growing in soil, then a pit the size of a minimum of 1.5*1.5ft is needed, and later fill the pit with cocopeat+vermicompost+other organic compost + Fertile Garden Soil(50%).
  • Protect the plant from the hot scorching sun, especially for the 1st 1-2years with a green net/shade net.
  • Training is required to establish and maintain a well-formed framework of main branches and fruiting arms.
  • The supporting branches are erected even before planting the vines or thereafter as early as possible.
  • The distance between plant to plant should be 2.5*3feet between plants to plants.
  • Watering is very important, Kiwi does not like to grow in water-logged soil, always make sure that water is drained out from the pot.
